What a GLORIOUS picture of that water!!!! OMG my mind is soooo there right now. The trees were etprty too, but I'm in the country backwoods of NC, haha I don't see enough water! And yes, being tech-free is very nice at times!! I'm glad you and your mom had some quiet time, too.
I was not impressed with Geneva. I setayd in a hostel in Lausanne (also on the lake) and day-tripped there, and I couldn't even find enough to do to fill one day without boredom. The EU/UN/whatever it is buildings weren't open for tours that day, and the city isn't that impressive or pretty. Lake Geneva is gorgeous, though! I really liked the Chateau Chillon, which is on the lake near Vevey (I think). Lausanne's harbor area (Ouchy) was nice for an hour or two of poking around, and Montreaux also seemed to be a cute town although I only stopped there for an hour. In general, the little towns along the lake seemed to have much more charm than Geneva, plus you could see the lake much better! Perhaps you could consider a boat trip on the lake?
